The BAU Cyprus Law Journal employs a rigorous double-blind peer-review process
to ensure the quality and integrity of published work. This means that the identities
of authors and reviewers are concealed from each other during the review process.
All submissions are evaluated by at least two independent reviewers with expertise
in the relevant field.
Process
- After an initial editorial screening to verify compliance with submission
guidelines and originality, manuscripts are assigned to reviewers. - Reviewers provide a critical assessment of the manuscriptʼs originality,
methodology, clarity, ethical considerations and contribution to the field. - Based on reviewersʼ reports, the editors decide whether to accept, request
revisions or reject the manuscript. - Revised manuscripts may be returned to reviewers for further evaluation. Final
decisions rest with the editors.
Responsibilities of Reviewers
We value the time and expertise of our reviewers. Reviewers are asked to: - Provide objective, constructive and timely feedback that helps authors improve
their work. - Respect the confidentiality of the review process and not disclose or use
unpublished material. - Declare any potential conflicts of interest and recuse themselves from the
review if necessary.
Originality and Plagiarism
All manuscripts are screened using plagiarism-detection software to ensure
originality. Manuscripts that fail the originality check or show signs of unethical
behaviour will be rejected.
